Join us for our spring episode of the Unfamiliar Wildflowers podcast – Fields of Gold. Today, on the first day of spring, we cast our minds back to last summer to get inspiration, hints and tips for cornfield annual wildflower planting . We'll also be on another meadow safari taking in the sights, smells and sounds at the sensational Heligan Wildflower Project with Alasdair Moore, who has teamed up with a punk icon to create something special.

We'll be hearing from the late Professor F. E Hulme who will be sharing his insights into a key cornfield annual species and we'll be answering some of your FAQs on cornfield annuals and meadow making.

Welcome to our podcast, we are a group of enthusiastic but amateur podcasters so please be patient with us as we learn on the job!

Unfamiliar Wildflowers is written, presented and produced by Dr Grace Twiston-Davies. This podcast is inspired by the series of books by F. E. Hulme, Familiar Wild Flowers which was published over a century ago. Dr Twiston-Davies uses original antique copies of these books from her personal botany library to get a glimpse into a time when wildflowers were more familiar.
