Current Projects

Meadow Match

Our Meadow Match project is our ‘dating agency’ for wildflower meadows. We are matchmaking ‘Donor’ and ‘Receptor’ wildflower meadows in Cornwall, Devon and the Isles of Scilly to help create more of these important habitats.

We work with the National Trust, Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Plantlife, Cornwall AONB, Duchy of Cornwall Estates, Cornwall Council and many private landowners and farmers.

The Heligan Wildflower project

We have teamed up with the Lost Gardens of Heligan to create case studies for wildflower seed production to help encourage more landowners to do the same. The case studies draw on the lessons learned from establishing a stunning 15 acre annual meadow site that provides not only ample forage for pollinators and a unique visitor attraction, but has the potential to generate income from seed sales.

We work with The Lost Gardens of Heligan, the University of Exeter

Scilly Bees

Game of Drones

We have teamed up with children from the Isles of Scilly and key bee-keeping experts to see how adventurous honeybee drones are as part of our island wide citizen science experiment.

We work with Five Islands Academy, St Marys Boatman Association, Tresco estate, Scillonian Bee Project, Bee craft magazine, Pollenize.

Big Scilly Bee Hunt

We have teamed up with bee expert Ian Beavis, Duchy of Cornwall Estates and the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust to find the elusive ‘Scilly bee’. This summer we will be exploring the uninhabited island on the Isles of Scilly looking in the hopes of sighting the ‘Scilly bee’, a bumblebee sub species which
hasn’t been sighted for over a decade.

We work with Five Islands Academy, St Marys Boatman Association, Tresco estate, Scillonian Bee Project, Bee craft magazine, Pollenize.
