Wildflower Collective was launched as a Community Interest Company (CIC) by co-founders Dr Grace Twiston-Davies and Alasdair Moore with the aim of creating more wildflower spaces that benefit the environment, economy and society.

With a shared passion for pollinator conservation and a successful track record of developing projects together as part of their work and also in their own time, Grace and Alasdair decided to formally combine their shared knowledge and experience. In 2021, Wildflower Collective CIC was launched so they could continue providing project development and advice to businesses, landowners and farmers to create wildflower crops and habitats.

Wildflower Collective CIC was also created as legacy to continue the positive impact of the work by Dr Grace Twiston-Davies and Professor Juliet Osborne at the Environment and Sustainability Institute at the University of Exeter on flower-rich habitat creation and pollinator conservation.

Meadow Match, one of the Wildflower Collective CIC services, was originally developed and piloted by Grace and Juliet at the University of Exeter as part of the SWEEP project funded by the Natural Environment Research Council and further developed through the Wildflower Collective project funded by the Halpin Trust. Both projects also supported the creation of case studies and evidence for the multiple environmental, economic and engagement benefits of wildflowers as a crop. Both projects, as well at the University’s Impact, Innovation and Businesses department provided support for Grace to explore potential legacy options for Meadow Match once the project funding had ended. Further support to develop the Meadow Match service with landowning and land managing partners was provided to Grace and Juliet by the University of Exeter Translational Fund through the Open Innovation Platform Fund financed by Research England’s Higher Education Innovation Fund.

This website was created with support from the SWEEP project.

In 2023 Wildflower Collective collaborated with Rosuick Organic Farm, Cornwall National Landscape and Cornwall Council to receive funding from the Farming in Protected Landscapes Fund to continue with Meadow Match through the Meadow Hubs project.
